Trinidad, WI.I. December 29th, 2007 - With the sudden growth of outsourcing to Caribbean countries, Virtual Assistants in the Caribbean are now helping outside businesses achieve the success they seek by taking on mundane office tasks and providing specialized services to their clients.

A growing number of businesses, large and small have been utilizing virtual assistants as an alternative to in-house employees. Like an executive assistant, most virtual assistants are the backbone of the businesses they serve. They provide a host of services from remote locations and communicate with their clients by the use of phone, email, instant messenger, virtual offices, the internet and fax to name a few.

With the growth of Virtual Assistants in the Caribbean came the formation of the Caribbean Association of Virtual Assistants in 2005 that started with just 5 members. With the recent launch of the association’s website, today they boast over one hundred members and counting. The purpose of the association is to provide support for virtual assistants living in the Caribbean. They also provide a central area for businesses to locate quality professionals.

Crystal Redhead-Gould, President of CAVA says, “ The mission of CAVA for the year 2008 is to really increase awareness of the virtual industry among local businesses. The general consensus for virtual assistants that are members of the association is that ninety percent of the work they perform are from outside companies that are looking to the Caribbean for experienced professionals at affordable rates.” She further explains, “ Many local businesses could benefit from this resource, the big problem is the misconception of the term, virtual assistant. CAVA has several workshops planned to increase awareness and clear misconceptions.”

To locate a virtual professional, head on over to the CAVA website at http://www.caribbeanassist.com to search the virtual assistant directory or submit a request for proposal.
